Pizza Roma, Watertown?

Anyone been to this place? It gets mostly rave reviews on "other online sources", which makes me suspicious. It is described as simple, old-school and cheap. I have somehow never managed to get there, despite living practically around the corner.

    1. Simple, old school, cheap, but nothing that exciting. Stella's is better AND they deliver.

        1. we absolutely LOVE Pizza roma, we live in Metrowest but hubby works near the place. When the craving hits, I call him and he grabs some pizza roma. It is so tasy, the sauce is just right, toppings yummy. Can't say enough good about it,BUT, really only take out, there is literally, I think one seat in the whole place :)

Really? I'm shocked, the one or two times I tried it the cheese had that gummy cheap cheese texture and the crust was just meh. I really WANTED to like the place, but the pie just did not do it for me. Maybe I should give it another whirl.

hmmm, maybe since my husband has been giong there for about 20 years for lunch, they do something "special" for him??? :)

I don't think they do anything special for your man....One of my sister who does not live very far from Pizza Roma loves their pies as well as Stella's. We have had pie's from both locations on several occasions and I think they both have their own highlights and we have experienced not so consistant pies from both locations but not that often. Better price at Pizza Roma and thinner crust at Stella's.
We usually will eat a pie before we go shopping at Arax, Sevan's, and Eastern Lamejun for obvious reasons. I hope I can talk her into it this weekend.

Heck, I'll give em another whirl...

                    2. I tried it out last night, got a large Margherita, which maybe was not in the place's wheelhouse, as I think of a good Margherita as a thin crust pizza. Not bad, but did not have fresh basil and the crust could have used another minute or two in the oven (I'll order "well done" next time). I missed the sauce on this kind of crust (NY-style, not particularly thin) and will try a plain cheese next time, as well as maybe their sicilian.

I grew up eating Pizza Roma pizza and still love it. I'm not in Watertown enough to get it very often, but the few times I have I'm pretty thrilled. For me, it may be part nostalgia, but I love the thin crust.

I too live in Watertown, but only ever order from Stella's, will have to go this a shot.
