L'Ami Louis or Chez Janou

Trying to decide between the two for an upcoming visit. Or am I wrong and they are not similar at all? Thanks for the help.

I hope you are not confusing L'Ami Louis with L'Ami Jean. That has happened on this board.

      Good point

Uh, not really. Janou is a nice, normal bistro. Louis is an over the top, decadent, expensive bistro with massive portions and aggressive staff.

        I'll second that.

It may be that on a price per poundage basis, L'Ami Louis is not overpriced. To me, it is the difference between "feeding" and "dining". Bill Clinton loved the place; that's enough for me.

          And exceptional ingredients.
