Good eats near the Public Theater

Having dinner with a dear foodie friend prior to going to a show at The Public (on Lafayette near Astor Place). Any suggestions as to where we should dine close by? SHow starts at 7:30pm, so we will get there around 5:30/6pm. Thanks.

Faustina is a 3 minute walk, Five Points is 5 minutes, and DBGB is probably about a 7 minute walk. If you're willing to go a little out of the neighborhood and walk maybe, 10 minutes or so, you can try Lupa, Bond St., Momofoku Ssam or Mermaid Inn.
