I can give you places in Orange County... will that help?

    Xanh Bistro, for example.

Yikes. Hollywood's sort of a desert for good Viet food. You may need to head to the SGV.

I don't suppose you know the Vietnamese name of the dish?

it's called thit kho and often includes hard boiled eggs as well

Kho (pronounced approximately "khaw") also commonly contains fish rather than pork, in which case it's called cá kho. If it's made in the traditional clay pot it's called thịt kho tộ or cá kho tộ.

Mỹ Dung (which is pronounced approximately "me-ee zoong") in Rosemead has decent claypot, if I recall correctly.

I'm afraid I can't help you. I've eaten only home-made versions of thit ko.
