Help? North Downtown Chicago Restaurant with Kids?
Hi, originally from the Chicago area, so know the area well enough, but the basic issue is: My wife and I will be there for a Fri and Sat-- staying downtown, Michigan Avenue Gold Coast, Near North-ish-- and we'll have the kids (4 yr old and 2). Looking for a place where I can take them and not get dirty looks from people wishing that I left them at home! They are well behaved and eat anything (for example the 4 yr old loves indian food), so I'm not looking for Chucky-Cheese, big chain type junk. Just a nice place with good food (great food ideally) where neither the owners nor patrons are going to freak to have kids there. Type of food interest is wide open, ethnic of course is good. Tips?
Nobody will freak if they are well behaved - go anywhere you want to!
Will you have a car?

If they like Indian, take them to Gaylord, http://www.gaylordil.com/, which is near your hotel. When our son was young we often took him there and were always treated well. The Indian food there is good (not great). For great Indian, go up to Devon St.
