Help! Honeymoon in Barcelona

Hi All,

We are honeymooning in Paris and Barcelona in March 2010. This is our first visit to Europe. We have travelled extensively in the US, Mexico, and the Carribean. We enjoy good food and my husband is from Central America, loves to cook, and has pretty discerning tastes. This trip to Europe is a food dream come true.

We would like to enjoy a fabulous meal to celebrate our wedding but can't afford a true Michelin experience (the economy sucks and I'm a med student). We are looking for amazing food and romantic ambience at a great price. We are both pretty adventurous eaters. We are staying in the Barri Gotic, but are willing to travel anywhere in the city for this meal. We plan to have many great meals in Barcelona but wish to have one truly special experience as well. We are looking to spend approximately $75-100/pp. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

    1. With your budget of $75-100 per person, except for Abac and Drolma, you should be able to eat at just about any restaurant in Barcelona. Wine is relatively inexpensive even at the best restaurants. I would search this board as there have been tons of posts of every type of restaurant in Barcelona. The variety of food that Barcelona offer is vast: molecular, modern and traditional Catalan, tapas, pintxos, fusion, etc. If you can be a little more specific as what you consider 'amazing food', you'll get some specific recommendations.
