If you were to pick one of those places which would it be?

Apizz is great. As is Peasant. No wonder though because they're both La Famina restaurants. His other joint, The Orchard is really good too. I also really love Da Umberto.

Did any one tell Frank De Carlo that his restaurant Peasant had been taken over by John Lafemina? I'm sure he'd be very surprised.

          1. re: KTinNYC

I think they are co-owners of Peasant.

Lafemina opened Pesant with De Carlo but it's very much De Carlo's restaurant.

              1. re: KTinNYC

Nonetheless, it's still a Lafemina restaurant. What's the argument?

                1. re: CantStopEating

Yeah, not really. Actually, not at all.

Is Po still a Batalli restaurant?

                  1. re: KTinNYC

Yes it is if he has an interest in it. That's how business works. And in the case of Peasant, it's still one of Lafemina's restaurants. Hope you can understand that. Have a great weekend!

                    1. re: CantStopEating

Batalli has no interest in Po just like Lafemina has no interest in Peasant.

                      1. re: KTinNYC

Po has nothing to do with this. You brought up that example. I merely suggested that if he has an interest, it's one of his restaurants. Now, what does your link have to say about Lafemina not having interest in Peasant? Nothing. Apizz didn't cause a split between Peasant ownership. It just symbolized the two not opening up future restaurants together. This has been fun. Good luck and enjoy your day!

                        1. re: CantStopEating

Split implies they are no longer together and that's what the link says. Peasant is now De Carlo's alone.

                          1. re: KTinNYC

Ha ha. That's funny. In this case, Split means that they are no longer opening more together. But "ok" if you say so. This is getting a bit repetitive. I just appreciate you trying to correct me every step of the way. It's really fun. I'm sure I'll see you soon! Have a nice day.

    2. Scarpetta, Convivio, Maialino, Peasant.

      1. Forget manhattan--LIC is only one stop away on the 7 train. Try manducatti's rustica on Vernon Blvd. for old world and delicious. (plus wood burning pizza oven) Walk north from the 7 and it's on your right hand side after about 5 blocks.

        1. Scarpetta...upscale and amazing and my fav restaurant in NY

          Malatesta...rustic, casual, charming, cheap

          Cacio e Vino...Sicilian, casual, E.Village fun
