Triangle Area Loses A Fishmonger

Though I've never happened into Tom Robinson's little Seafood market in Carrboro, I was always told that despite its looks it was the place to go for probably the freshest seafood. I don't know what will become of the place as the man behind the store passed away recently.

The only real "go to" seafood market left in the area. A small simple place, old concrete blocks on concrete slab. But the seafood is fresh and good, and Tom Robinson knew what he was doing, he shall be missed.

I once read another comment somewhere about someone complaining about the cleanliness of the place and I just snorted, because he was a fanatic about clean. It made me remember our stable when I was a kid, and how my grandfather would point out that city folk just didn't understand how a stable could be "clean".

It sounds as though his staff will continue to run it:

What a loss for the community. His passing will leave a hole in many lives.

That is a darned shame. It seems like the store will keep going (toward the end of the article it has him giving his wife orders about the fish market). I hope so. It would be a great legacy.
