So, having an urge for some Hae Mul Pajeon and Kimchi Fried Rice, I headed to Kaya on Elseworth to grab an order. So imagine my surprise when I saw that it had been ( slightly) remodled with new owners and a new menu. Apparently the focus has been put less on big meals and more on snacks and food to be enjoyed while having a few OB's or Hites. The sushi bar is no more and the menu is a bit smaller than before. However , it features a few items new to even veterans of Korean places in the area. I enjoyed a meal of Dakddongjib ( Think sauteed chicken gizzards with onions and peppers) and Jjol Myun ( Thin noodles in a light broth with radishes, cabbage, amongst other items) The food was very good and the staff very attentive, especially if you are already somewhat familiar with Korean food. Other items that caught my eye were Sundae ( blood sausage) and Budaegi ( just google it , i dare ya lol). So first impressions were quite positive and I hope the new menu catches on as it's a nice change of pace from the Bi Bim Bap/Gal bI/Bulgogi Bbq type of Korean places that are usually found around here.

Thanks for posting. I happen to be a blood sausage lover from my days in Germany, although I realize this is inexplicable for most people. I'm there.

I am just chomping at the *bit* to quote Bill Murray's character from "Groundhog Day", Jim, but I won't. ;)
