rec's for Soho tables for 8?

Friends are staying at the Soho Grand, and we're thinking about a more-or-less reasonably priced dinner with them, us and four or so adult kids within walking distance (no taxi's tonight!) open-minded about cuisine; looking for quality, pleasant ambience, ans serious food. The possibles list so far is Caffe Falai, Jean Claude, Cafe Select, Bistro les Amis, and Novocento.

Any thoughts on those or other suggestions? Thank you all.
