Meal delivery in Kensington?

  • 4
  • Share

I have a friend who is recovering from surgery for cancer. She has a husband and three small children and has been the stay-at-home mom. Some distant members of our moms group want to pay for some meal deliveries to help out. They live in Kensington. Any suggestions? We'd be looking for meals that are fairly basic, not fancy, as at least one of the kids is a pretty picker eater, and none of them are foodies.

  1. I hope the mods don't remove this, but it's a very good resource and I can't find an email in Meemster's profile to email direct.

I'm involved with the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of El Cerrito and Kensington falls into our "district." There are patient services that your friend can have access to. My contact info is my profile, please contact me.

Otherwise, I would talk to Larry who runs the meat counter at Young's Market in Kensington and explain what you are trying to do. He is a very nice guy and might be able to come up with something - a care package type deal - for you. He does a few different ready made options - roast chickens, ribs, meatloaf - and a bunch of sides which could be an easy meal.

The other reasons I suggest the patient services is because there aren't a lot of places that will deliver to Kensington.

Thanks, adrienne156. That sounds like a good local resource for us to use. I'll look into the ACS suggestion, too.

    2. Subject to approval by Adrienne I would suggest Khana Peena at the top of Solano that delivers within a 5 mile radius.
