Anthony"s Coal Fired Pizza vs. Totonno's Pizza ( from Brooklyn, NY)

I'm throwing this out.
If anyone's been to Totonno's Pizzeria in Brooklyn, NY you know they make the BEST, AUTHENTIC NY Pizza.

Does Anthony's Coal Fired compare to Totonno's??

I'm hearing all sorts of commercials for Anthony's and there is one very close to my son's house in Carrolwood off Dale Mabry.

Just curious....

  1. Not really. Totonno's is pretty much one of a kind as is the oven design. I liked the pizza at Anthony's. It appears to me that they use a wood burning oven with a lump of coal. Even though this is a different grade of coal and much cleaner than in the old days, I'm still not sure if I want to consume much of anything cooked next to it. Could be cleaner than wood for all I know, just don't like the sound of it.

    1. I've never had Totonno's. I have tried Anthony's in Ft. Lauderdale. The crust was great, but the sauce was a little sweet for my taste.
