There's more to the CH Manifesto than foodie vs. CH and "deliciousness."
In case you've never read this or it's been a while, here's the link to it:
If you go to the end of it, you will see that it says it's okay to want info on Quisp Cereal. I assume that doesn't mean ONLY Quisp. I assume it means...Olive Garden...jarred spaghetti sauce...canned vegetables...McD's newest sandwich...etc. I think there's a big difference between suggesting someone try making their sauce and questioning their Chow-ishness. There seems to be a tendency on some people's parts (a minority, I'm sure) to do the latter. It's not only mean-spirited, IMO, it smacks of the same snobbery that it seems CHs should be avoiding.
So when people point to the manifesto as their support for certain positions, I wish they'd use all of it,not just the part that suits. Lecture over, class :)

Yeah, I'm sure that's why it's called "Chowhound" and not "HauteCuisinePedigreed." ;-)

Folks, we just locked the last thread related to this, and we think it's too soon to start this over again, so we're going to lock this, too.
