Almost final eating itinerary....your thoughts?
My husband and I will be in Rome Florence and Venice in March (3,4,3 nights.) I have been reading the posts and researching and this is what I have come up with so far. I must admit I am having the most trouble with Florence - need some help here. I have some extras because I am not sure and some of your faves but I just wondered if you thought I've missed anything. I would like some less expensive, some around 150E is fine and a few expensive is fine. We would prefer local places - not too big and definitely not touristy. Please let me know what you think. Thank you for all your input.
Da I Due Ciccioni
Il Giostra (many conflicting opinions - not sure about this)
Santo Bevitore? (friend recommended)
Il Ridotto (splurge but looks so great)
Thanks for your input.
My wife and I were in Florence in 2008 and we had a great meal at La Giostra. Best porcini mushrooms we had on our whole trip and the pasta dish with pears was awesome. We also had a memorably good meal at Trattoria 4 Leone. Incredible Pappa al Pomodoro there. We spent more time outside Florence in Tuscany so don't have much else to recommend - but I will say if you need a quick sandwich and glass of wine there is a wonderful hole in the wall called I Fratelli not far from the Duomo. Unique and wonderful.
Did you try the places you listed in Rome and Venice? What are you thoughts/suggestions? I'll be going in a few weeks and i'm the process of finishing my food research...thanks!
