Taco Carts?

Foodnerds Feb 23, 2010 08:00 AM

I haven't been on here in awhile but I know you guys can point us in the right direction.

We are considering hiring a taco cart to come to our house for our daughter's first birthday in April. For the most part our guests like good food but aren't super adventurous. We would probably want chicken, beef, and pork. Excellent salsa is a must, natural/organic meat would be a bonus...I'm not even sure anyone does that?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I've used these folks twice now, to rave reviews. We opted for chicken and beef, but supplied our own beans and rice. They have all the taco fixins and salsa was excellent. I don't know if they do natural/organic meat.

It's not precisely a taco cart, but Super Cocina does a good job with catering, and if you're willing to source the meat yourself, they'll use whatever you want. Roots Organic Catering uses good ingredients, but I don't know if they do tacos.

I had some friends that used "Tacos al Pastor" to cater a party....they don't use a cart but setup a grill and a few tables to prep and serve. The people were very friendly, and the tacos were quite tasty.

I used Sabor mexican grill out of Spring Valley for my super bowl party. They provided carne asada grilled to order, carnitas which came from they're shop and pastor which was prepared on the trompo (the rotating spit) in front of everyone. They also made handmade tortillas to order and provided beans, rice, several salsas, onions, cilantro, etc etc.

I had about 60 ppl and all gave positive reviews. They were very friendly and fun.

Do you have the phone number for this restaurant?

OMG...to funnny! I am looking to do a kickoff party for my husbands company on 6/11. I have been doing some research on the whole "taco cart" thing. We are looking at about 200+ people so our party is going to be preaty big. I found a few online that come from Orange County, Rasta Taco and Soho Taco. All reviews sound good, they will do 2,3,4,5 carts. Beef, chicken, veggie, fish and I am also looking for maybe a nacho cart. They all seem to wan to charge per person 5-6 tacos a person, which I don't want to pay since we are doing more of an open house. They will Also provide bartending services. They seem to be willing to do small & large parties. Good luck!
