montali tomato paste (in a tube)

Have you had luck using the tomato paste that comes in a tube past the recommended suggestion that's printed on the tube ("use within 4 weeks")? I'd hate to throw it out (I've only used a tiny amount of the large tube), but then again, I'd hate to get sick! I've been storing it in the fridge. CHs, help please??

walker and Soop, thank you for your tips. I ended up trying a little bit of it a few days ago, and to my surprise, it tastes fine. I'll keep it!

You probably won't get sick, but it (probably) won't taste very nice. There should be a video to the right which describes freesing the paste. It may or may not crash your browser,

I've used this product for years and I guess I never bothered to read the fine print; I KNOW I've opened a tube and used it periodically over months and months -- maybe a year?? Never had a problem. (I always keep it in the fridge.)
