St Catherines...where to eat?

4 adults 4 teenage boys...no need for high dining but wouldn't mind dining other than boston pizza...a local favorite?

Cat's Caboose is surprisingly good. They seem to have real, fresh food there and there's a decent variety.

Lina Linguini's it was.. a group of 8....the food was better than average (this is not boston pizza) the service was above average and then some...we were in and out (we were attending a hockey game) it was a very good meal for the price...no complaints.

My favorite spot in St. Catharines is Lina Linguini's on 4th ave. Great laid back Italian spot. The food is excellent and I consider very reasonably priced. We actually did our wedding rehearsal there. We fed somewhere between 30-40 people with booze and it worked out to be about $700 and trust me the booze was flowing.

Wow! That is unbelievably cheap! Is the food homemade and fresh? I always assumed it was "chain franchise" style quality.

The food at Lina's is better than say, an East Side Mario's, but it won't be up there with the best Italian you have ever had. Even though it isn't a chain the quality of the food is similar. I have had a couple of ok to decent meals there, but also a couple of very awful ones. It isn't somewhere I would pick to go for a meal, but if a group of friends are going it isn't so bad I would stay home..

Duff's at Niagara/Vine in St. Catharines is a good alternative to BP but don't expect perfection.

For something "nicer" try Grill on the Hill near Brock U. http://www.grillonthehill.com/menus.html

I got Duff's takeout pizza and wings last weekend. Mediocre. You might be better off at BP.

I had a similar question awhile ago: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/675569

Being broke, I haven't been doing a lot of eating out, but I have heard good things about various places. What are you looking for? What meal? Ethnic, yay or nay?
