Roti @ Krazy Coconut in Fairlawn/Hillside ?

  • 4

Saw a brief posting on the new Krazy Coconut opening up in Fairlawn and noticed and got really excited that it has roti (with housemade skins ) on the menu....Has anyone had it there at either locale? Comments?

  1. I heard about the food from a friend & visited last week. The food was excellent. I've been back twice. On one visit I had the curry goat roti and really enjoyed it but you must try their beef ribs - falls off the bone.

    1. I am so bummed!1 Just got back from Krazy Coconut. We walked out without having eaten 1 hour and 25 minutes after placing our orders. No one was eating food even though the place was full. I had high expectations and that's just enough. No should have to wait that long. Also flourescent lights had me waiting to be waterboarded or something. No music--just hungry people waiting for a reality check.

Entering here is like going into the Twilight Zone.
The Restaurant was full, but no one was eating, and it was deathly silent.
Customers were looking at each other as if to say, how and why are we here.
We waited at the entrance after making reservations for 5 minutes, before deciding to seat ourselves.
Still no sign of anyone working there.
We opened our wine and my friend went to back counter, near the kitchen to perhaps see if he could get some glasses.
After five minutes he came back to the table empty handed.
Perhaps the Chef or owner had died ?
No ! Just then after 20 minutes we spotted a waitress on the other side of the restaurant.
No eye contact, but signs of life.
Some people just got up and left, some people who came in waiting to be seated left.
Finally we left and went the excellent Golden Dynasty in Franklin Lakes.
Either this is a "Front" or they are in the process of over insuring the place.
This is the first time I've ever reviewed a restaurant without eating there.
        "0" Stars.
We did get out of the "Twilight Zone" alive and back to the "Real World".
I can still imagine the Zombies waiting for food at Midnight. God knows what happens then,

      2. Sounds like we Bergenites still have to take a little ride to Leela's in Montclair...
