Tables for seven...
Myself and six others are all going to be in NYC for the first time in March- four adults, two in college and one high schooler. We will be doing the usual stuff that people do when they come to NY from Mississippi, which I'm sure will include a lot of gawking and bumping into things while looking up at the buildings. Aside from all the fun of doing that, we are going to need to eat something now and then...
I would love to go to the best deli for corned beef and pastrami, someplace Italian- hopefully a place where the Godfather could have been filmed, pizza, Chinese, and maybe an Irish pub, but realize that our choices might be limited due to the size of our party.
Still, I am hoping to find some good places. We are staying in the theater district if that helps. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Here are my top choices. They may be a bit obvious but they're pretty much classics!
Deli - Katz's of course! (this is where the famous When Harry Met Sally orgasm scene was filmed)
Italian / Pizza: Arturos - while this won't seem like the godfather was filmed there, it's a great spot for pizza and the atmosphere is very fun / old school.
Chinese: Hop Kee - it's a grungy "real" Chinatown place that both tourists and locals love.
Irish Pub: The Half Pint - great beer selection
