PHO without MSG

We love Toronto Pho but with a young toddler and a new baby on the way we're trying to avoid MSG. Most Pho stock is pre-made and our favourite restaurants have informed us that they can't make a pho without it. Anybody know of any Viatnamese restaurants in downtown or the west end that don't use MSG?

I too am curious about this - more so focused on restaurants closer to Thorn/Richmond hill though.

By personal 'best choice' list:
1- Hanoi 3 Seasons
2- Golden Turtle

Unfortunately, options are quite limited. There is a belief among most proprietors that MSG is a necessity, has ALWAYS been used, that there is nothing wrong with it, and that omitting it will give them a competitive disadvantage as the soup won't taste as good as their competitors... As you can tell, I've tried to champion MSG elimination... :)

ive made pho myself without msg that tasted much better than any msg soup... maybe they are just being cheap with the amount of bones they use in the broth?

pho dau bo on finch west has no msg i think
