21st Birthday Dinner in Paris

I am currently studying abroad in Paris and my mother very generously agreed to pay for a 21st birthday dinner here for some friends and me. Does anyone have suggestions for a festive spot that is not too pricey (about 40 euro per person seems reasonable) for a group of about 7? I would like to eat French cuisine, since I am in Paris, but am open to other suggestions as well! Thanks!

You might consider Les Papilles. You should tell Bertrand of the occasion and ask if the large table in the elevated space at the rear holds 7, or consider the space/alcove on the right behind the frosted windscreen or ask to be seated in the cellar. The pricepoint is right for you, the ambiance lively, the food French and the value excellent.

I think Chez Flottes could work; it meets your price point, and they know how to handle groups. Aligot is a specialty. Willi's Wine Bar is a bit more upscale but will cost more if beer/wine is added to the tab. Both have decent web sites.

Several people have recently referenced inexpensive restaurants in Paris ...one referenced a list of 68!.... so, i suggest that you do some "search" on chowhound. See "Search this board" above.
