Just letting folks know that a new coffee shop, Nib's Coffee Cafe, opened in Hendersonville this past Thursday across from Blue Water Seafood on Kanuga. I'm mainly letting you know because I've heard Ultimate ice cream mentioned a lot on this board and Nib's is also serving Ultimate ice cream and I'm not sure if any other place in H'ville has it?
I don't normally get too giddy about ice cream (I view it as basically just a vehicle to hold lots of sauce), but she gave me a sample of both the Madagascar Vanilla (my baseline) and Belgian Dark Chocolate to try and O. M. G., they were both SO good! I am still dreaming about them and there was not one drop of sauce on them! Besides those two flavors, they have Butter Pecan and Mystic Chai, but she said she is not married to those choices and would be open to suggestions.
Their focus is mainly the coffee (they get their beans from Brown Bean Coffee Roasters in Brevard), but also have tea, hot chocolate, serve some baked goods and a few lunch items. I think she said they were going to do a sandwich and soup each day. I didn't notice the prices other than the coffee and it seemed reasonable (in line or slightly cheaper than other coffee houses).
I don't think they have a website, but there is a Facebook page that I think is public (I can see it).
I wish it had some comfy couches and chairs, but it has tall-backed cozy booths in the main space and cafe tables in their sunroom. They also have a nice wraparound porch that they are going to use when it gets warmer out. And they have a drive-through, but you have to go on a side street to get to it.
I don't get over that way too often, but with the lure of that amazing ice cream, I may have re-route my errands!
