New Paesanos in Italian Market - the Panelle

I finally made it to the new location of Paesanos in the Italian Market and I had the panelle.

Has anybody tried this from both the old location and the new location? I think the outside was different. Every time I have had it before, it seems like they heated up the outside of the wrap so that it was kind of crunchy on the ends. Today when I got it, it was just a plain old wrap. The inside was just as tasty as always, but I did not love the unadorned wrap on the outside.

Was this a mistake? Is my perception off? Did I perhaps just get a bad panelle?

  1. I have been to both locations. The new location is roomy with seating for maybe 25. They even have a lovely waitress. I ordered the meatloaf parm. It was very thick, with a lot of melted cheese, served on a kaiser roll. It was over done: too thick and too much cheese. The location is going to be a pain in the ass, try finding a place to park on any day, but the room is nice. As long as the original sandwiches are as good as from the original location you will all be very happy. I just wasn't impressed with the meatloaf.
