Where can I find the BEST black and white cookie in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, or Glendale? TYIA!!
Barney Greengrass (Barney's in BH) has a good one.
OMG...I haven't been there, didn't even know it existed! That totally brings back great memories of living in New York so I am definitely going to go there. What's crazy is I never ate a black and white cookie at Barney Greengrass. Thanks so much!!!
Deja vu...this same question was asked some time ago, and I remember Bea's Bakery in Tarzana as being a serious contender, if not the winner.
also beverlywood bakery on pico was mentioned
It's two and half years old, but I believe this is the discussion thread that liu is talking about:
Arthur...that is exactly the thread I was remembering! Before I posted, I did a quick search, but did not find it in the time I had. Thanks for finding it!
I always preferred Izzy's, in SM, on Wilshire & 14th (or thereabouts). The white-side icing was a big firmer than my 2nd favorite, the Beverlywood Bakery, on Pico Blvd.
I second Izzy's.
Fromin's on Wilshire and 19th has a good black and white by the checkout counter; also Factor's on Pico near Doheny.
You can get decent ones at Gelson's in a pinch.
Viktor Bene's Bakery in Gelson's makes a good one.
