There's been a lot of buzz about Motorino which recently was voted the best pizza on the East and given one star by Sam Sifton of the NYT. I'm sure it'll be tough to get in but stick out those elbows and give it a shot!

ive never been there on a saturday but they don't take reservations so the wait will probably be awhile.
there is also spot and led zeppole which are new dessert places in the east village. I really like the ice cream at spot and the pb&j icey at led zeppole.

I also really like the ice cream at Sundaes & Cones. I believe he was one of the guys from Chinatown Ice Cream Factory which is always rated the best ice cream in the city.

Just rated by the NYT = avoid for 6 months for the crowds to die down

Friends went last night, said it was COMPLETELY PACKED by 5:45pm. It wouldn't surprise me if the wait was regularly 2 hrs post-review, it was already sometimes 30-60 minutes on a weekend night at prime time.
