ISO Upscale mid-week breakfast option for a group

adamandeve Feb 18, 2010 10:28 AM

I am organizing a breakfast meeting, and would like to find a place that serves good breakfast, can accomodate with reservations a group of 10 people, is not too loud (indispensable that we can hear each other), and hopefully is located in the East side of Manhattan below 50th street, but not waaaay east that it would be too long a walk from the 4/5/6.

My first thought was The Breslin butthey don't take reservations- I know its probably ok but it makes me a tad nervous. I've never been, so I also don't know if it'll be too loud.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

How about Locanda Verde? It is on the west side, but the island is narrow enough down there that the walk back to the 4/5 is really not long.

      What about Pershing Square?

I am now considering The Cafe @ Country and Maialino. Anyone has been there for breakfast?

The Cafe @ Country will be quiet. Only hotel guests seem to go there. Nice space albeit dark. Food is eh. Service is good though.

I wouldn't recommend Country. It's highly lauded so I figured brunch should be decent... food mediocre, service terrible.

Looking at opentable.com, I see Olives and The Smith.

What time are you planning to begin the meeting?
