Came here twice last week and had a good experience both times. They have an excellent bar with tasty martinis and mojitos (try the cucumber martini) and a good wine selection. The view is excellent and the atmosphere is sophisticated without being stuffy and formal. Two menus available - one casual bar food - another more upscale. I brought my family for the early bird : $15 offers a choice of salad, entree, and a taste (think amuse-bouche size) of dessert. It's an excellent value for the quality and portion that is received.
I started with the House Salad. It had goat cheese & shaved fennel over field greens, watermelon & candied pecans and served with orange blossom honey mustard vinaigrette . It was excellent and plated creatively.
Wild caught Mahi was citrus rubbed, grilled and served with (to die for) garlic mashed potato and grilled vegetables. It was prepared perfectly.
The Crab Cake was served over an Asian noodle salad and was fresh and contained a nice amount of crab.
My Mom had the Prime Rib and while it was closer to medium-rare and ordered rare - it was a good size and not too fatty.
My brother had grilled shrimp skewers and I was curious if it was wild or farmed shrimp. He felt that they were likely farmed and I personally don't care for farmed shrimp. He reported that they were a good texture, cooked perfectly, and fresh.
We each tried a different dessert of the three offerings (key lime pie, a chocolate torte, and cheesecake). Portion was no more than two to three bites (perfect for me but others may want/expect a full portion and be disappointed.) Dessert was fine - I thought that the chocolate was too dense- almost like eating fudge. The key lime pie was tasty as was the cheesecake.
I look forward to returning here again - perhaps for Sunday brunch - or just to soak up the sun on the deck.
