Tips for Dining, Eating and Food Shopping in Pennsylvania (exc. Philadelphia, inc Pittsburgh)

Work-related dinner Mt. Washington

We have a group of folks coming in from out of town for a work-related meeting in May. Giving these "new to Pittsburgh" folks the "Pittsburgh experience" is important.

Last year we did Monterrey Bay, a number of years ago we did Bella Vista. I'm stumped on where to go. We will have about 30 folks and we have limits on what we can spend.

I dislike LeMont... Is Coal Hill Steakhouse still open?

Hopefully it will stop snowing by then.. thanks.

    1. Coal Hill is open, but I've never really liked it. What about the Georgetown Inn? It's not really elegant dining but it's about the most reasonable price wise and still has a great view. I've always kind of enjoyed the place.

        1. What about Lidia's upstairs balcony for dinner and Monterey Bay for drinks, before or after?

            1. burghgal et al, did you like Bella Vista? I am looking at that restaurant for a work related meeting dinner too.
              thanks!

                1. Tin Angel has a beautiful room upstairs for 10 to 50 people. I don't know how that would fit your budget, but if you don't call, you won't know, either.

                  1. Isabella's. I went to a corp dinner here and loved it.

Isabella's was waayyy to expensive. We're going back to Monterrey Bay - they have set dinners and there is fantastic fish, chicken and steak (something for everyone) starting at $29.95 a head. The food is great and everyone from out of town loves the view.

Good choice. The food is pretty good and you just can't beat the view!
