Voulez Vous Cafe (Queen & Ashdale)

I was heartbroken when Ideal closed. That said, they weren't always the most consistent (there were probably two or three baristas that were as good as Heather)

Just tried these guys today. They opened Saturday. They're good! Baked goods look great, coffee was top quality. A sigh of relief! There are once again options in my immediate area other than Coffee Time.

I must agree. I've been stalking this address for a few weeks now and glad to see it's decent.

The only thing that would make me happier would be later hours - Red Rocket as well closes far too early (both 6pm). If you're gonna open a new café in Leslieville, at least help differentiate it by offering something new - late night. Tango Palace is open till 11pm but the coffee is weak and the baked goods appalling.

Definitely. There are far too few late night coffee places in town. I've been going to Tango for years (although not as often recently) and thought their coffee and desserts rather good. Not outstanding though. If I really want a great coffee, I'd go to Mercury if in that area. I will say this about Voulez Vous, and that is that they only put one shot of espresso in their caffe latte, so I personally need to ask for a double. Big difference from the old Ideal mugs of milk with 4 shots in it!

I'd seriously give it another shot before calling Mercury better. Believe me, I'm a hard core Mercury fan but this is something much different. They sourced their own beans from around the world and opted to go for a local organic roaster.

I have been twice now and the shots pulled have been phenomenal. The crema is so thick, you can pull it off with a spoon. Very complex falvour profiles here. Also, extremely strong coffee. You've been warned :)

This is my new fave spot in Leslieville.

I was referring to Mercury being better than Tango. As for Voulez Vous, as I said, so far, very impressed (and it also helps that they're closer to my house)

Oops, many apologies. I am quite fond of the location, too. I have only had swill from Tango and Ideal at that location. Not here to start a flame war but I didn't want to return to those places.

I agree. Every cafe should be putting a double shot into their drinks. The only places that don't are the likes of the chains like starbucks, etc...
