Brunch - Southern Orange County - 9 persons - Mom's birthday
Greetings,
I am a new poster to the board and wanted to get some recommendations for brunch for this Sunday. My Mom will be in town - we need reservations for 9 people.
She really wanted to go to Ramos House - it is a favorite - but they only take reservations for 10 or more.
I like the food and the atmosphere at Ramos House -
Another -"issue" or to be taken into consideration is I will have a 2 year old with me.
She also mentioned maybe Zoolu - (for dinner) but I think that will be tough with a 2 year old - it is a very small place (we love it there) but a 2 year old could really be disruptive to the other people (obviously we will take her outside if it is an issue but Zoolu is really small).
Thank you in advance for your help!

If you *really* like Ramos House, maybe you *can* make reservations for 10 and just show up w/9?
While I like the atmosphere of Ramos House, the food is better @ Break of Dawn (Laguna Hills); it's currently the OC CH board favourite. They have one big table that can accommodate your group indoors; if it's not rainy (as the forecast appears to be), you can always sit outside. While it's not as charming, the food is definitely much better.
Another option would be Taco Rosa in Tustin. It might be loud, but it's festive & the food is pretty darn good.

re: Professor Salt
wow! Lots of good reviews for Break of Dawn - I will have to call them and see if they will take us.
I thought about making it for 10 at Ramos House but feel bad - and they have a sign that discourages bringing children. My daughter in law mentioned that. Thank you all So much!-
