NYC for 4, 1 Night

Hey all-

Visiting my little sister who's currently studying in NYC for the semester. Four of us are going out to dinner on Saturday night and we all love food but are not too familiar with the NYC scene (stay mostly in Boston...). My sister is not a huge fan of Asian, and loves Italian with a penchant for French/Americanish also. Price is not really an object, but ability to get 4 in at some point this Saturday is (it's late, I know, I know). Any help would be much appreciated!

  1. I did a quick search on opentable and you have quite a few options. I haven't been to some of these restaurants but you'll find lots of positive comments on this board:

    A Voce
    Bar Boulud
    Blaue Gans
    Colicchio & Sons
Eleven Madison Park - yep, 9:45 for a party of four - call them now!
    Gotham Bar & Grill
    Rouge Tomate

All great suggestions - maybe we can narrow a bit if you have a specific area in mind.

    2. Do you want casual? Dressed up? Some of the better places I'd recommend still have the jacket policy for dinner service.

Where are you thinking? 21 club is the only one I know of with a jacket policy.

Per Se, Le Bernadine, Daniel all come to mind.

Hmmm, Picholine, Jean George, Daniel...shall I go ok?

            1. re: Spiritchaser

Picholine does not require a jacket.

Jean Georges only requires a jacket at dinner, not a lunch.

In addition to the 21 Club and the already mentioned Per Se, Le Bernardin, and Daniel, the following require jackets:

              Four Seasons
              La Grenouille
              Le Cirque
              Le PĂ©rigord
              River Cafe
The Modern Dining Room - only at dinner

Btw, the 21 Club was the last to require both tie and jacket. They did away with the tie requirement last.
