My husband and I are road tripping from San Diego to Phoenix. Anywhere interesting to eat along the way? Suggestions would be appreciated.

Not much. I'd say pack a good breakfast or lunch and just put your head down, avoid the roadblocks, cops, etc., and come on over. There is plenty to save up for once you get here.

I don't have specific experience, but, if it were me, I'd find something in Yuma. I'd start by searching the Southwest / Southwest board for Yuma, and see what comes up.

Lute's Casino in Yuma is a fun stop. It qualifies as interesting but in no way is it chowhoundish. Very accesible from the freeway.

It depends on what you want.
If you get off on the 4th Ave exit and head into Yuma, Tacos Mi Rancho is at the corner of 2nd St and 4th Ave and offers good Mexican food. A few blocks further in on 4th would bring you to Mr G's - an old school Yuman style AZMex place.
But it depends on what you are looking for. More specifics about what you are looking for and how far from the freeway you want to go would help give you better info.
