Downtown LA Italian/Pasta

Saabiar Feb 16, 2010 03:10 PM

Going to be in LA for the marathon next month, looking for a recommendation for mid range Italian or someplace nice that has some pasta selections on the menu.

We will be staying at the LA live Marriot, so around that area or a short cab ride away would be best.

Thanks so much!

Don't know what you mean by midrange, but I love the pasta at Drago Centro.

This would be my first pick as well assuming it's not too much money. I've also heard very good things about Colori Kitchen for something less expensive: http://colorikitchen.wordpress.com/

I think mc micheal meant that he wasn't sure what midrange meant to you since it could mean very different things to different people. Basically, a dollar range might get you more helpful recommendations.

I second Colori Kitchen. The chef is from the Milan area and knows how to cook pasta. Bring your own wine (my friend always has a glass the night before he runs a marathon). No corkage fee and you must make a reservation. I also like the pasta at Bottega Louie. Drago will be more expensive but is supposed to be excellent. You can walk to all three restaurants mentioned from LA Live.

Definitely Colori and Bottega Louie. No need to go anywhere else.
