The right spot....

The right spot....
I am really trying to come up with the "right" place to celebrate a friend's important birthday in a few weeks!! We will be approximately 7-8 couples and we need a place that has great food, and a cool vibe for people 30-40's who like to eat well, drink well and have fun. I was thinking someplace in the Greenwich-Stamford vicinity....Maybe Barcelona in Greenwich, but most recently was underwhelmed by the food...

OK, CH friends- can you help?????

  1. I am not a fan of the vibe at Barcelona Greenwich. Stamford could be fun though.
I'm not sure if your party is too big, but you should call Napa & see if they can handle your party in their private room. I've been to a couple of dinners in there and always had a blast. Another thought would be Brasitas in Norwalk, they have a back dining room that could likely accomodate your crowd and be fun.

    1. Baang in Greenwich is fun and the food is good. Also EOS in Stamford has a fun, trendy vibe. Mitchells in Stamford has a nice private room and good cocktails - also location/parking friendly.

      1. Interesting that Napa and Eos came up. I have been thinking of both, but haven't been to either. Can you give me any more insights on these places? We are a polite, but boisterous group. Love a good wine list and good food...

Then you'll love Napa. You would probably fit into the private room on the other side, the food is great, good wine list. Menu is on the website...

EOS is much more casual, but good Greek mezze type dishes. I think Napa would be a better fit.

Sounds great! I am going to look into it this evening...

Napa and Eos are both excellent suggestions.

Napa has an excellent wine list and is the best Stamford restaurant in my opinion. However, the price tag usually ends up being rather steep.

The Eos wine list is limited, but they do have a variety of Greek wines if you're looking for something different. I love almost all of the mezze dishes at Eos and frequently end up ordering a variety of mezzes instead of an actual entree. It is more casual than Napa, but I think it still has the kind of vibe you're looking for.

              Link to Eos website:

I am totally leaning towards Napa. I was thinking of Lolita's in PC, but I think we actually want to be able to hear each other...

tarry lodge is good too- loud place so a boisterous group will mix right in.
