Any New Wheelchair Accessible Restaurants?
I'm always on the lookout for wheelchair accessible restaurants with washrooms on the same floor. I started a thread on the subject in 2007 and got a lot of good leads which led to many enjoyable evenings.

I thought it might be time to revisit the subject to see if any new places have opened up.

If you look at NOW Magazine's restaurant reviews, they always include as part of their review a note called "Access", which indicates whether the restaurant is "barrier free" or have steps (including the number of steps) to the front door and its washroom. While the reviews of the food itself might not be spot-on, the reviews are useful for those with mobility issues.
An example is the Keriwa Cafe review that indicates that the front door is barrier free but that the washrooms are in the basement:

Hugely helpful - thanks - though if you could search by feature, it would be even better. The results are disappointing so far. Of the ones on my original list, all are listed as basement washrooms (except for Mideastro, which isn't in their database). Woodlot is listed that way too, JennaBean, though I was trying to remember from my visits there if the washroom is just a step or two down from the bar or down a whole other flight of stairs. Gotta say that it's not something I think about often, thankfully, but what a tough proposition for restaurant lovers who need main floor access.
Edit - just realized there's an Advanced Search option on the Now Magazine website that allows you to look for barrier-free access and/or washrooms - thanks again loosia!

Bumping this thread for an upcoming dinner with a group of 10, including a friend on crutches - looking for main floor dining and washrooms. Specifically, wondering about some of the newer spots...Yours Truly, Keriwa, Hopgood's Foodliner, Acadia, Mideastro? Or anywhere else with a vibe like Woodlot or Enoteca? Thanks.

re: JennaBean
The bathroom at Woodlot is two steps down from the main floor and it is a very tight squeeze. The main floor is one step up from street level and has a high family style table that won't work for someone in a wheelchair. There are tables on the second floor but they are up a set of 20 or so stairs. All in all, i would not recommend Woodlot for someone in a wheelchair but someone using crutches would most likely be okay.

As a rule, any new restaurant in a new building in the GTA will be completely wheelchair accessible. That's the law. But a new restaurant that moves into a space previously occupied by an older restaurant does not have to change any of the facilities. So C5 in the new ROM is accessible, but Cinq 01 in the old Arthurs doesn't have to be.

Le Papillon on the Park in the area between the Beach and Leslieville has a lovely wheelchair-accessible washroom at ground level. They opened soft in November but are planning an official launch in the spring (I think) when they will also be able to open their fabulous patio.
The restaurant design is a beautiful space all around with lots of large windows and two fireplaces. Food is good too. Service excellent.

re: Moorepark
I'm not totally sure the patio itself is wheelchair accessible -- it's on the second level -- I guess you'd have to call to find out. I wouldn't wait until patio season in any event. If you're in the area, it's quite lovely now -- lots of light during the day and in the evening, they've got those fireplaces going.
