Two Lunches and a Dinner between MIA and FLL

My wife and I will be flying into Miami, but staying near Port Everglades before leaving on a cruise. On the way home, we have a LATE flight out of Miami.

This means we'll have time for two lunches, a dinner, and perhaps some late night snacks somewhere in the MIA/FLL area. We would prefer the dinner to be near FLL, but will gladly drive, as we will have a rental car the entire time.

We're looking for authentic food, that we wouldn't find at home in Minnesota, and they also need to be vegetarian friendly (although strictly vegetarian is not required.)

Some of the ideas I've seen floating around this board include Jaxson's Ice Cream, Versailles, or Catfish Dewey's (if they have Stone Crab).

Are these good choices? Does the board have other suggestions? Bonus points will be awarded for fantastic Tres Leches Cake...

  1. Coco Aisian is excellent. On 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale in the Harbor Shoppes and vegetarian friendly.
