lunch and dinner in Greenwich Village
Coming to GV for a conference this weekend -- need a moderate but yummy lunch spot walking distance from Washington Square south. Also looking for a romantic place with excellent food and drink, romantic for a lesbian couple celebrating our anniversary; willing to splurge.

Hmm... well, walking distance is pretty subjective. So is "splurge," but I had two real quick ideas that came to me almost immediately.
Il Buco is in Noho (sort of SW of the East Village), and probably a 5-10 minute walk from WSP South. And there's Bellavita (sp?) on Minetta Lane definitely in GV proper. For some reason I thought of two Italian places. If you can clarify price range and any specific cuisine likes/dislikes, you'll probably get a hundred recommendations.
