Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Maximo Pino on 6th Avenue

Anyone been here yet? http://www.maximopino.com/

We went today. The arancini (ham &cheese and ragu) were excellent; the pizaa (quatrro formaggi) was good; and the cassata (arancia and classico) were out of this world. Seems like a Sicilian chain restaurant to me. Not sure if I really like it or if I think it is a sell out. Opinions?

    1. I went in there tonight for gelato/sorbetti. The peach sorbetti is insanely delicious - so rich and without any dairy - all natural ingredients. I want to go sample every flavor now. I had some frozen yogurt too - sharp and tangy like greek yogurt. I didn't try the gelato flavors but there are many.

        1. I haven't had such luck with them. First of all, the arancini are small and 6 dollars each....a total rip off, even if they are good. The pizza would be okay if one wasn't in New York City, where you can get some of the best food in the world. That's also overpriced. Come to thing of it, all of their stuff is fairly overpriced, and portions are not generous.
