Green Chili - Framingham
Just had a great meal at Green Chili restaurant, in the Pinefield Shopping Center in Framingham. It is in the location previously occupied by Hometown Hotdogs, and so as not to disappoint anyone still looking for a hotdog, they remain on the menu. Also in keeping with the eclectic menu, you can get pancakes and eggs for breakfast, or Richardson's ice cream for dessert. But the bulk of the menu is mostly South Indian goodies, and they are outstanding (for the most part). Several varieties of dosas with great fillings. Chutneys and sambar that accompanied weren't anything outstanding, but still very good. Wonderful appetizers, including samosa chaat and bhel puri. The chaana masala was excellent, very flavorfully spiced. I stumbled across a large errant cinnamon stalk in the chickpeas. Chai and mango lassi were both delicious. The owners were very friendly. Overall, a wonderful meal and a great addition to the Framingham scene. If you are looking for atmosphere, go elsewhere, but if you just want some great food, in a fluorescent lit room (and a wall of Indian trivia), this is the place!

(I think I noticed they are closed Tuesdays, so call ahead if thinking about going on Tuesday).
Had a fabulous pork biryani tonight that had just been made. Owner is very invested and pleasant. Ambience is non-existent with fluorescent lighting much like a pizza place but the food is authentic and absolutely fresh. This place has got to be hurting with all of the construction going on in that area and I'm sure they could use some local support. Homemade mango lassi was perfect.
