Restaurants/Places not "adding" to posts
i just realized that during the past couple of days, none of the restaurant links from the CH database that i've included in my replies are actually showing up once i post. so far it's happened on the Manhattan, NJ and LA boards. i noticed that the site hasn't automatically generated any of them so i have to use the "manage links" function to add them manually, but even after doing so and verifying visually that they're there during the composition phase, once i post my reply they disappear. i went back to check a couple of times, and there are no links to be seen anywhere on the pages.
i'm on a Mac running Snow Leopard OSX 6.2 with Firefox v3.5.7

They come and go. And it seems to be random, meaning one thread will have the links, then I open another thread and none show.
I've also noticed that "Still can't find it? add a restaurant/bar" feature. I've tried to use it but after entering the name and address and trying to hit "add", I just get a spinning circle. Checking later, the new record is not entered in the database. Wondering if this feature shows up for everyone or just those who have editing privileges now?
And one more R&B related bug, whenever I link to a Place in a reply then hit "post my reply", I get the spinning again. But when I refresh the thread or message index, my post does take.

Hi goodhealthgourmet - unfortunately it is still happening.
When we launched the feature in October we received a lot of complaints from the users on incorrect links so over the course of 3 releases we have been tweaking the rules about what to auto-link in order to help limit false positives. We now realize that some of the rules are a bit too strict and not offering enough flexibility to link most Restaurants consistently.
Currently we are working to iron out the kinks and will release the updates in April. We are confident that these tweaks will help find a happy medium. Thanks again for the post we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

I think we're talking about something different than the autolinking.
Sometimes when a thread is opened, all the links I have manually added in "manage your links" when I originally posted will show. Then I will refresh or return to the page later, and there are no links, no map in the upper right hand corner.

That isn't the problem I had. I noticed that the auto-linking didn't seem to be working so I manually added several links to the post in question (in this thread: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/688296 ). The links didn't show up at all when I posted the reply.

we're in the same boat. auto-links don't even show up for me either, nor do they appear after my reply is posted if i add them manually through the "manage links" feature.
