More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
I've been getting a lot of server errors and application errors these last three days or so. And usually the page will come up if I refresh immediately, but many have not been that transient and won't open.
On Thursday afternoon/ evening, I was shut out of R&B, Profile, and anything on the chow.com domaine that didn't have chowhound.chow.com, even after I opened up no script on firefox and tried three different ISPs over the course of those hours. One 'hound contacted me and said he thought it might have been a DNS problem. But it seems to be fixed now.
I had noted a widgetserver script running and thought that might be the problem. It's not coming up on any pages now.

I've been trying for a few months now to open this record for Fook Yuen restaurant and always get an application error, including just seconds ago.

Hi Melanie - the Engineers are looking into this one it's very weird. Thanks for letting us know and we will post back when we get the page back up and running.

This restaurant closed a few months ago. It might have been marked as 'closed', if that helps you track down the problem.

Here's another one that won't open.

Hi Melanie - that restaurant opened for us, are you still having issues?

I get a 404 "CHOW: Whoops! File Not Found" when I click on that link.

Tried now and hit refresh 5 times --- no go.

The restaurant is marked as closed, that might be why you can't see it and it appears for me. Still that is a bug because you should be able to see closed restaurants. Just to be sure is this the correct restaurant?

Yes, that's the one. It may not be "closed", but it is not a restaurant unless it has a snack bar in the gym or something like that.

That record has been deleted, since it wasn't a restaurant. Where'd you find the link to it, Melanie?

I saw it at the end of the records roll for the Sf Bay Area restaurants & bars, which is now at page 1375.
http://search.chow.com/search?search_...
The sort order for the roll seems to put new records or newly updated records at the very last page. That is, if there are no reviews or discussions associated with them, then they go toward the front of the list. Is that the logic?
I look there from time to time to see what might be newly added. I noticed the not-restaurant-sounding name and tried to open it.

It looks like it's since dropped out of the search results.

When I say the name "Fook Yuen" with a California standard English accent I think the problem becomes more understandable... ;-D>

Fook Yuen is an Asian chain of cantonese restos. You're not suggesting anything that hasn't been said about the name in the ~20 years it operated in the Bay Area.
