Plan my Valentines' Day (Food and Beyond)
Me and my friend (friend, not date) are looking for fun ACTIVITIES to do on Valentines Day.
We don't know what yet but we're thinking of hitting a play (a recommendation of something GREAT would be immensely appreciate as we're both fans of non-musical theater),
a few good bakeries (those quirky chocolate bars or whatever),
(Does Manhattan have chocolate bars? LIke http://www.julietteetchocolat.com/? I miss it terribly)
I would really appreciate your help in planning a fun, non-romantic day around the town (pref. midtown and uptown).
you could consider going to Kitchen Arts & Letters (http://www.kitchenartsandletters.com/), finding a good cookbook, selecting a recipe and then setting about to find the ingredients all over town. instead of going for what's easy, go for what's best. go to Murray's if you need cheese. Go to Amy's if you need bread. Go to Kalustyan's if you need spices.
Then seek out the perfect bottle of wine and perfect dessert. After you'v got everything, head home to prepare the feast.
Folks, please keep responses here related to food and drink. General travel planning questions are well covered by any number of general interest travel sites, but are off-topic for Chowhound.
