If anyone is looking for coconut M&M's
Ever since I tried them on their initial limited run I've been on the lookout for these with no success. I think they're bringing them back as a full time item, but to date the only place I've found them is (strangely enough) Blockbuster video stores. These things have jumped to the top of the list of my favorite mass produced junk food.

OMG!! I need an American dealer!!! (I'm Canadian) I'm thrilled to get the dark chocolate M&M's. Everything you guys have mentioned here I have never even heard of!! Oh except those crispy minty m&m's those were around at christmas then gone. PB and J M&M's? ew who thought of that?
Any of those cocount chocolate treats I need to get my hands on though - I love Almond Joy.... feelin' a road trip across the boarder coming on. Seatle outlet mall and a stop at Walmart for all good chocolates.

re: julesincoq
Not all of the flavors you mentioned are actually under the name brand of M&M's. There are other companies who manufacture M&M-type candies with different flavors--i.e., the Almond Joy, Reese's Pieces, York Peppermint Pattie, etc.
Consider perusing the candy isle at any grocery store, or large chain and you might discover what you are looking for. FoiGras

I know this is a late reply to your February inquiry, but I don't know about coconut M&M's, but yesterday at the local Giant grocery store I purchased
Almond Joy (coconut) pieces--they are just like M&M's in blue, brown, tannish colors. They also had the Reese's pieces and York peppermint candies. FoiGras›5 Replies -
so i got the little bag of cocnut m&ms from blockbuster for 99 cents. eh, they're o.k., but for my chocolate calories, i'd prefer an almond joy. in the m&m realm, the coconut ones come in behind the mint crispy, wild cherry, peanut, plain, & peanut butter ones -- but ahead (way ahead) of the peanut butter and strawberry jelly ones.
will be on the lookout for the pretzel ones.

re: alkapal
Damn! See, that's the problem with "hype". Rarely does the thing you seek ever live up to one's expectations. Except, for me, Chang's pork buns... they rocked.
Anyway, are you kidding me with the wild cherry and pb&J ones? They sound nasty. I heard there are strawberry ones too. OMG. I'm holding out hope that the pretzel ones are good. (fingers crossed)

re: lynnlato
If you like sweet and salty (as I do) and are a pretzel girl, you've gotta try this:
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/6136...I can't tell you how good the pretzel M&Ms are, but I will totally vouch for the utter deliciousness of chocolate-dipped Pretzel Thins (Pretzel Crisps, depending on brand).
And alkasis, I, too, dig peanut butter (never peanut!) M&Ms.

Almond Joys also come in M&M styled pieces by the bag.

this explains the blockbuster - special m&m tie-in: http://www.typetive.com/candyblog/ite...
(however, do not buy the strawberry peanut butter m&ms mentioned in the link i tried them for the team. let's put it this way: the team owes me one).

Do they have actual coconut in them or just flavoring? I'm sort of intrigued but also a bit skeptical of them. I guess I'll have to try them myself!

re: ttoommyy
They're milk chocolate with coconut flavor - a little larger than the regular M&Ms.
See photos here:
http://www.typetive.com/candyblog/ite...I've found them so far at Walgreen's pretty faithfully and even a few CVS.
For those who like actual coconut in their coconut candies, I prefer the Almond Joy Pieces, they're new from Hershey's and feature coconut & almond bits mixed into the milk chocolate inside a shell (like Reese's Pieces).

They're in all the little magazine/newspaper/lottery tickets stores I've been in in NYC lately, at least in the small bags.

re: buttertart
Frito Lay's "Puffcorn", comes in two flavors that i know of, cheese, and butter. They are gigantic puffs (like giant exploding cheetos) that are melty soft. I always didn't get them when i read that they were "baked", but it was good.
http://www.fritolay.com/our-snacks/ch... at this link it's a smaller package. I got the $2 big bag. -

re: lynnlato
Pretzel M&Ms are supposed to be out this month, though I've been scouring the stores and haven't seen them.

I tried some at a trade show last year, they're like the old Crispy M&Ms, except saltier. They're a little larger than the Peanut M&Ms.

re: lynnlato
Chester's Puffcorn probably have been around for a while, I just hadn't seen them until now because I haven't been eating as much junk food, i mean, "snack food" :) due to budget adjustment. There's a "corny poem" in the back of the bag, and the puffs are in the shapes of popcorns except bigger. I consider them along with the
m& ms my Mardi Gras celebration.

I recently called Mars customer service looking for these too. They told me they are now a permanent item but because alot of people are unaware of this they have been flying off the shelves but they should be available in Target, Walgreens and other places that have M &M's. I guess best to keep checking. Good Luck!

re: chocolate
Yum! I had a couple of bags of the coconut ones and loved them. All the flavour of a Bounty (coconut chocolate bar) or the US equivelant whose name I've forgotten, without any bits to get stuck in your teeth. I'll have to keep my eyes open.
PS. My favourite M&M flavour is Peanut Butter - but coconut is close behind!
