Reccos for a tourist looking for lobster
My wife is a huge seafood and lobster fan. So I am planning on taking her to Maine so we can feast on some lobster and other goodies in May or June. We live in Las Vegas and will be flying into Manchester NH so we will be having to drive over to Maine.
Can someone recommend a non-touristy place for us to go that isn't too far of a drive from Manchester and that has some great lobster at reasonable prices? Much appreciated!
Chauncey Creek in Maine.. pretty low key, bring everything except lobster and fries/chowder (ie bring salad, wines, bread, etc) - pick your own lobster, and eat it by the water :)

Pick June when weather is better for outdoor dining. The Ice House in Rye on Rt 1B (drive to Portsmouth and follow R 1B, great scenic drive) has good lobster rolls and onion rings which you can enjoy inside or at a picnic table under the pines. Suggest when you get sick of lobster you try some fried clams and scallops.
