Where to buy fondue cheese?
I am new to DC and am struggling to find a market where I can buy cheese to make a fondue. Any suggestions?

Whole foods will have what you need. If you want artisan cheese: Cowgirl creamery, Cheestique, Arrowine. Balduccis also has a cheese counter, it is rather uninteresting and generic like Whole Foods, but they will have the 3 common cheeses used in fondue.

Trader Joe's has a cheese for fondue mix as well.

Do you want a fondue mix or particular cheeses to blend yourself? sekelmaan has great suggestions for cheese, and I've seen fondue mix (mosty emmenthaler) at Safeway.

You should be able to find Gruyère cheese at most well stocked markets and any cheese store.
It is the quintessential cheese for Swiss fondue.
