Looking for a nice place in northern VA for V-Day. Trying to keep the budget not more than $75 per person. What do you guys recommend?

David - as I wrote in the other V-Day post today:

I will recommend some NoVa places that is inside the beltway (Alexandria): Del Merei & Carlyle Grand for American. Bastille & Fontaine Caffe Creperie for Euro.

Google reviews of them all & read up. YMMV.
Lets just say I've never had a bad meal @ any of them.

What do you think about Evo Bistro? My gf is a steak and lobster kinda gal, want to make sure I find a place suits her tastes.

I'm going to have to chime in with a caution on Del Merei for a holiday meal. I've done a couple (Easter Brunch and don't remember the other occasion) and both times the food was cold and a couple of components clearly made well ahead of time and had lost any zing they might have once had.

However, just a run-of-the-mill night out at a pleasant, American resto, everything has always been fine. I just steer clear now on "occasion" calendar days.

I think the Liberty Tavern would be a good place for a VD meal. If you wanna gorge on steak Ray's the Steaks is fantastic, though not very charming. Both would require a reservation at this point I'd say.

I'm a big proponent of Willow in Arlington. It looks they they created a V-day menu, which is along the lines of their normal menu with a very small price bump (nothing nearly as bad as what I have seen from restaurants in the past).

I've made reservations at the Grille at the Morrison Hotel, so I hope its good. Looks like an interesting tasting menu, with a 3, 4, or 6 course option. The decor looks really cozy and classy. I'll write up a review afterwards.
