Cambridge Dessert Recommendations?

Going to dinner at Hungry Mother to celebrate my wife's birthday. Would like to do dessert at a later point in the night somewhere else just for fun. Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be in Kendall necessarily. Wouldn't mind taking the T over to Harvard or Central, etc. if there's something cool/nice, etc.

Doesn't have to be fancy or romantic if it's real tasty.

Friendly Toast in Kendall has some decent desserts.

You you and your wife like lemon I suggest Rendezvous in Central Square for their Lemon-buttermilk pudding with huckleberry sauce.

Second this. I don't dig desserts but this one always makes me super happy.

Also, if you like cheese for dessert as I do, this is a good choice.

Toscanini's! You could walk over if the weather is decent.

Okay, it's one stop further than Cambridge on the T- Davis, namely, but I think Gargoyle's might have what you're looking for. I love one of their window tables in front for coffee and dessert, plus they have some dessert type cocktails. If only we would get some snow- it's my favorite place for blizzard watching. D'oh.

I would actually suggest Burdick's in HS if you don't mind making a little trip. Rather than overpriced (as Finale is IMHO) it definitely fits the TASTY bill. Also, there is nothing better than a delicious, decadent mug of their hot chocolate in this kind of weather!

I love Burdick's, and there are lots of delicious choices there - but be aware that it might be very hard to get a seat - people linger and you might be forced to stand or go back out into the cold w/your treats . . . Crema Cafe is very very good, too, and much bigger. Not as cute and fun as Burdick's, but much better than Finale, in my opinion. Have fun!

I wonder if you could get into Oleana to have baked Alaska for dessert?

Oleana has a couple of nice things on their current dessert menu. but sadly their Bread Pudding is absent this Winter.

Sicilian Almond Cremolata & Warm Chocolate Panino 12

Nougat Glacé with Quince-Apricot Marmalade & Apricot Sorbet 13

Black Walnut Baklava with Apple Confit & Warm Salep 13

Caramel-Tangerine Parfait & Persimmon Pudding with Tangerine Brulée 13

Cocoa-Rose Ice Cream with Chocolate Marquise, Date-Rose Truffle & Rose Petal Jam 13

Burdick's is delicious (and I've never particularly enjoyed Finale), but it closes at 10 on Fri/Sat (and earlier other days). Not sure what OP considers a "later point" though...

Finale is just plain poor. Very nice looking, but largely flavorless desserts which are also pricey. I NEVER go there. Many other good reccos below incluidng Burdicks, Toscaninis, Rendezvous, etc.

I wish I could plate as well as Finale, but I *know* I can bake better than Finale.
