Classy After Dinner Piano Bar/Lounge in DC?
Hi All,
First off, this is NOT Valentine's Day specific.
I am on the look out for a classy after-dinner bar/lounge (Friday & Saturday specifically) that plays smooth Sinatra-esq music. I mentioned piano because that's what I envision, but I am open to any and all suggestions. I have made it down to U Street and do like Twins Jazz Club, but I am looking for something a little quieter/classier with more of a bar/lounge presence. Essentially, I am looking for a place to meet up with a few friends for drinks and have a conversation without having to shout over some slow background tunes.
Does such a place exist in DC?

701 at the Navy Memorial. Mo's Bar has live jazz on Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights.

701 might fit the request. I haven't been there for years (since the old chef/owner left), but Teatro Goldoni use to have live music on Fri and Sat -not sure if this still holds true.

The Madison Hotel at 15th and M has a jazz night. There's a cover, but the scene is as you described.
