Mini Review for Venezia Bakery

  • 2

I am only familiar with the one near Queen and Ossington.

This is an old school bakery with an old school charm.

They offer all the Portuguese bakery standards and some new sensations like orange cookies (mildly citrusy) and beer cookies (sweet with a bit of a malty overtone). Also cod and shrimp cakes (greasy but good) and of course the Portuguese egg tarts and those wonderful crusty white rolls.

I can never go to this part of Toronto without dropping in here and getting a sack full of calories for home.

They have some tables if you want to eat in, but I've never stuck around long enough to test their offerings (which I think are coffee and sandwiches/panini). I am too eager to get home and hoover down the food I just bought there. Maybe someone who is more familiar with sitting around and relaxing there can add their experiences.

  1. OK, I have to try beer cookies. Thanks for the heads up!

    1. Venezia Bakery is the best Portuguese bakery in Toronto. Incredible corn bread and custard tarts. They also serve up a tasty veal sandwich. One complaint - terrible coffee.
