Dinner between MCO and Disney

I'll be arriving in Orlando at dinner time and driving to the Hilton Walt Disney on Friday night. I'll be with two kids and would prefer to eat somewhere other than the hotel. Ideally, we'd grab some bbq or got to a place that has burgers for the kids. Does anyone have any recs that fit the bill or should I resign myself to hotel (or Downtown Disney) dining?

Thanks in advance.

  1. off of the Buena Vista exit there are plenty of chain restaurants, and that is as close to where you will be as you can get. I recommend Chevy's if you like tex mex style Mexican. The food is good and it is a VERY kid friendly environment. (the corner of 535 and Hotel Plaza Blvd which is the road your hotel is on). Don't rule out Downtown Disney though Bongo's, Gloria Estefan's Cuban themed restaurant is fairly good (though about as authentic Cuban as Chevy's is Mexican), Raglan road has a really good little Irish Chip Shop on the back, and a nice menu inside, and the Earl of Sandwich has a wonderful sandwich called the All American. If you want to go into town International Drive has every themed restaurant you can think of. If you like Thai try Thani Thai. It does not look like much from the outside but is nice inside and only one of a few Thai restaurants in the USA approved by the Thai government's cultural ministry as a representative of the Thai culture.

    1. In Downtown Disney, I can recommend both The Earl of Sandwich & Raglan Road Pub. If you opt for the Pub, I'd make reservations.
